Last year, we saw the Lexus LF-NX concept debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show and since then, the Japanese automaker has been building the production version of the luxury compact crossover. Slated below the ever-popular RX, the 2015 Lexus NX has been toned down from the extreme concept.
Set to make its official debut at the 2014 Beijing International Auto Show, the Lexus NX will offer advanced technology and a striking appearance while setting a new standard for future models. Back when the hybrid crossover officially debuted, we liked its driver-focused cockpit.
We could have done without the interesting color combination in the interior, but we’re confident that is customizable. Lexus took some design risks when building the concept, and not many were a fan of the bold look. However, both Lexus and Toyota are trying to build more emotional vehicles, and it sure did stir up emotions. Just maybe not the right ones.
Although we can’t see much of the newest edition to the Lexus lineup, we get a glimpse of the front and side. It looks as though many of the harsh angles have been softened, but it’s clear they’re still trying to bust out. Focus at the 2014 Beijing Auto Show may be focused on the NX, but it won’t be heading to China alone.
The Lexus RC F performance coupe will also make its China debut at the Beijing Auto Show. A press conference will be held for the NX on April 20. Stay tuned for more info on the new 2015 Lexus NX luxury compact crossover.
