Legalization Of Marijuana Considered To Be Beneficial In More States Of U.S.

The law states that providing you’re over 21 in Washington, you can have 2 ounces of Marijuana on your person, and 1 ounce if you’re in Alaska. The actual sale of marijuana is still illegal in Washington, but you can give gifts of up to one ounce. Alaska has revealed plans to legalise the sale of marijuana, but Washington hasn’t revealed details of any such plan for them yet. That being said, you can grow up to 6 marijuana plants on your property in both Washington and Alaska. Implementing these rules in other states can greatly help the economy and stop petty crime!

Stores and dispensaries for marijuana in Colorado and Washington first opened last year and are doing really well. This has created many marijuana jobs as a result. In Colorado, the benefits of legalising marijuana became clear soon after. There was an overall 77% drop in marijuana court cases and an 81% decrease in petty possession charges. Police resources were instantly freed up as a result and they were able to deter people from committing other crimes, such as robbery. The percentage of crime was down overall. It just goes to show that legalising marijuana really pays off.

It also became clear that teen marijuana use was on the decline. As marijuana is one of the least dangerous drugs there is, other states are working towards a successful legalisation like Colorado has. Colorado actually legalised the use of marijuana in 1996, but for medical purposes only. It has come a long way since then, and evidence shows that it would be beneficial to do so all over the United States.

To put it simply; legalisation of this product would benefit the economy, free up the time of the justice system, and also stop people from having to deal with criminals/the underworld. It should also encourage people to make informed choices and stay healthy. Many people say that it isn’t cannabis that is the issue; it’s the law. By changing the law, everybody will benefit. Many celebrities are even advocates of marijuana use; Seth Rogen, for one, has always been open about it. There are other celebrities who keep their marijuana use on the low down as it can be construed as bad for their image. Justin Bieber is one of the most recent celebrities to be caught up in a marijuana row. Even certain members of One Direction have been caught on camera boasting of marijuana use. They have been condemned for ‘glamorising’ its use, but the truth is marijuana doesn’t hurt anybody.

It’s been proven that it’s better for the economy and that all crimes no matter how big or small reduce as a result. Doesn’t this prove that more places in the US, and even places in the world need to follow suit?
